1944 Excelsior Welbike WWII Paratrooper Scooter -- Award Winner at the 2014 Idaho Vintage Motorcycle Show -- Calwell

These were designed to parachute out of a plane in a box.  Once on the ground the paratrooper would unfold the scooter, pressurize the fuel tank and spin the back tire to get it started.  These were designed to be single use.  The fuel tank was filled with pre-mix (the engine is a two-cycle) and is not refillable.  They had no transmission, just a slipper clutch.
