To remove the canister you need to remove the two lines that attach to the top of the canister. I used an ice pick to release the hose clamps. Then I removed the two screws that mount the bracket to the engine case. You will need to plug the smaller of the two hoses to avoid a vacuum leak. I used a 5mm screw from the auto parts store. Removing the oil cooler shield makes access easier to the hoses. As a last step I used existing hose ties to reroute the lines. There are several sites on line that have step by step instructions. The whole process took less than half an hour. This photo and photo below show the engine after canister removal. |
