New knobs for 1958 Mival M5L 175

New damper knob from 1960s Harley Davidson/Aermacchi Sprint.

At some point the black plastic knob in the upper left of  this photo replaced the original knob.

I replaced the tool box knob that was on the motorcycle when I purchased it with knob from a Ducati single.

At some point this knob replaced the original tool box knob.

  1. very cool bike. I can't imagine how how rare it would be to have such a bike. I hope you post pics of the whole bike soon. how many bikes do you have? how long have you had this 1958 Mival and where did you get it?
seems like a rare kind of bike that would be impossible to find if a guy was looking for one. were they even imported to USA? I love it.

    1. I bought the bike at the Mecum Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas in January. I have only seen one other Mi-Val and that was at a museum in Denver. They were never imported to the U.S. They were made in Italy in the 1950s into the mid 1960s. Being rare can be a curse as parts are hard to come by.

This is one of 12 bikes I currently own. The others are:

      1963 Honda 150 Benly
      1964 Honda 55 Cub
      1965 Greeves Moto-Cross Special
      1966 Harley-Davidson M50 Sport
      1968 Honda CL350
      1972 OSSA Stiletto TT
      1977 Bultaco 250 Pursang
      1979 Kawasaki KLX 250
      1980 Yamaha XS650
      1982 Suzuki 1000 Katana
      1983 Yamaha IT490

  2. great collection of bikes. I remember now seeing your posts of the Mival in January from the auction show. out of all the bikes on your list I think the Mival might be the most interesting but the Honda 55 Cub would be the bike I would probably choose out of the bunch. I keep looking at Cub pics on Google images drooling over them. I hope you get top dollar for the Katana on eBay. then buy another bike.
