Fabrizio Meoni was a native of Castiglion Fiorentino. Winner of the Dakar Rally in 2001 and 2002, and winner of the Rallye des Pharaons in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001. He died from injuries resulting from a crash in the 2005 Dakar Rally.
