A Blog about Motorcycles. Also at www.OldMotoDude.Com, on the OldMotoDude YouTube channel, and Pinterest.
The motorcycles are mostly vintage, but really anything that catches my eye. 99.99% of the content on this blog is original material. Comments are always welcome. Use the search bar... you never know what you might find.
I was starting to wonder if anyone had a Yankee 500. I would sit and gaze upon that bike for days non stop then I would move the bike to another angle then continue the gazing marathon. that bike has got to be worth one million dollars.
Dick Mann was a major part of the Yankee design. He raced Ossa's in short track. His short track racer was the basis for the Ossa DMR (Dick Mann Replica). The Yankee motor is essentially two Ossa 250's spliced together and wedged into a Dick Mann designed frame. Makes a lot of sense to use fiberglass in low production manufacturing. The Spanish manufacturers used a lot of fiberglass for tanks, fenders, and side panels.

I love the yellow assed Preston Petty grips.
ReplyDeleteHadn't even noticed the grips. The bike is even better looking in person.
Deletein that one pic we can see that the front fender is made from fiberglass.
