1965? Greeves 24MCS (Motocross Special)
I picked this up earlier this week. I'm not a Greeves expert but I do know that it has the wrong carburetor and it should have alloy fenders. I haven't been able to pin down the exact year, but from research I have determined these were manufactured from 1961 to 1965.

What is the frame number? Its at the top of alloy beam on left side
ReplyDeleteJohn,
DeleteThe frame number is 24 MCS/2/1454.
Thanks
Looks like a 1962 bike, as in 1961 frame numbers started with 61/**** and in 1963 model changed to the MD & MDS. Obviously yours is an American spec one so dates may vary a bit.
ReplyDeleteInfo from Carrick & Walker 'Greeves' book. Although I am in the GRA I am not an expert on motocross models. May pay you to sign up on the GRA forum http://www.greeves-riders.org.uk/forums/index.php & ask some questions on there.
Great info. I will definitely sign up!
