I tried to start the 490 yesterday and my foot kept sliding off the kickstarter. Close inspection revealed the lever had worn to the point where the lever was engaging at about a 95 degree angle. This made it difficult to kick over without my boot sliding off (and getting a chunk taken out of my shin). The fix was to get out the TIG welder and build up both sides of the lever. Now it works as intended again. Phot above is after the fix. Photo below is before. |
