Yamaha XS750D on display at the Western Colorado Vintage Motorcycle Show -- Palisade
I owned the selfsame 750 D in 1976 till 1979 when I traded it in on a XS Eleven. It was a trouble free bike, the only negative was the silencer that only lasted about 8000 km. My friend built me a three into one which when the baffle was removed, it howled when revved. I still own the XS Eleven to this day, also a great trouble free bike.
I had a silver 1978 with the factory fairing and saddle bags. Mirrors were useless and hands numb from the vibrations. Sold it for a 76’ Goldwing and never looked back. The Yammy was fast but constantly needed the valve shims adjusted.

ReplyDeleteMike,
DeleteThank you for your comment. I always liked these. Definitely not the UJM that the other Japanese manufacturers were producing.
