1974 Yankee 500 from a private collection

  1. I was starting to wonder if anyone had a Yankee 500.
    I would sit and gaze upon that bike for days non stop then I would move the bike to another angle then continue the gazing marathon. that bike has got to be worth one million dollars.

  4. Dick Mann was a major part of the Yankee design. He raced Ossa's in short track. His short track racer was the basis for the Ossa DMR (Dick Mann Replica). The Yankee motor is essentially two Ossa 250's spliced together and wedged into a Dick Mann designed frame. Makes a lot of sense to use fiberglass in low production manufacturing. The Spanish manufacturers used a lot of fiberglass for tanks, fenders, and side panels.
